Job Description:

Responsibilities

The COVID-19 Health Disparities Program is designed to address the long-standing inequities that have systematically undermined the physical, social, economic, and emotional health of racial and ethnic minority populations and other population groups that are bearing a disproportionate burden of COVID-19. The Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Prevention received a $1.2 Million carve out allocation from the Federal COVID-19 Immunization grant to support Tribal Nations or entities servicing Native American community members with Vaccine Confidence initiatives.

The Health Program Administrator I (HPAI) will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities Program (OMH-HDP) contracts; will report to the Health Program Administrator II. The incumbent will be responsible for program and contract management activities; fiscal and data management activities; conduct site visits and evaluate contracts to ensure initiatives/projects are achieving key performance measures; participate in assigned teams, committees, and work groups; develop written materials; participate in program planning and development; other appropriate related duties. In addition, the HPAI will participate in the development and review of competitive procurements and perform other appropriate related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in the administration of personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of general experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the development of a public health or human services programs.

  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of a public health or human services programs.

  • Experience working with Tribal Nations, Native and Indigenous Populations.

  • Experience facilitating the provision of technical assistance to contractors.

  • Experience with technical writing and other professional communication.

  • Experience with problem solving and suggesting corrective action strategies.

  • Experience managing contractual relationships with service providers, programs, and vendors.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
