Center For Diagnostic Imaging Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead in Alexandria, Minnesota

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. A Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist Provides leadership and management to nuclear medicine services, assures that services are provided within professional standards. Performs all nuclear medicine procedures according to the established policies and protocols, methods and standards to provide quality patient care. Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. This position is a fulltime Monday-Friday with variable eight hour day shifts starting between 6-8am, includes rotating call and holidays. If Radiologic Technologist, this will include rotating x-ray shifts with weekends. (75%) Nuclear Medicine Possesses the knowledge and ability to perform all technical procedures in a timely, efficient manner Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination Prepares patients for nuclear medicine procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure Assesses, prepares, records and administers radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and departmental policies Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients/clients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, community and referral sources Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers Demonstrates knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment as an integral part of the quality of patient care services Maintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other physicians referring to the company Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS) (20%) Operational & Staff Support Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation; including other regulated QA Troubleshoots when possible, and reports problems to supervisor Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer Helps manager gain support for unit goals and plans Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items Keeps manager well informed of status of assignments Assists in marketing Nuclear Medicine services to referring physicians Manages overall staffing levels for adequate modality coverage at all times Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and/or termination of associates Assists in staff planning and hiring process along with management Leads regular staff meetings and employee one-on-one (5%) Performs other duties as assigned Required: NMTCB registered technologist, current and in good standing Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform Nuclear Medicine procedures independently Preferred: Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable Registered/licensed in PET and PET/CT Bilingual RAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
