Sutter Health Registered Nurse - OB/GYN Telephone Advice Nurse - Part Time, Day in Antioch, California

Position Overview:

The Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation is a non profit corporation that exists to provide the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a seperate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver athe clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will deliver high quality, market competitive medical services.

Provides nursing care for patients and their families. Assists the physician or other medical providers in implementing the medical care plan. This position may be responsible for floating to all areas of the Foundation that require the Registered Nurses' licensure and skill set.

Qualifications:

· Education: Satisfactory completion of an approved course in nursing leading to an Associate Degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree in nursing.

· Experience: Minimum 2 years providing patient care in an ambulatory health care environment.

Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.

Licensures

and Certification: Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN

Basic Life Support Certification - BLS

· Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Knowledge of scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge and understanding of medication administration.

Knowledge of computers and their applications.

Ability to demonstrate clinical competence in providing direct care, patient and family education.

Ability to provide leadership and role modeling among clinical support staff and clinicians.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in English.

Phone triage skills.

Dosage calculation skills as proven by successful completion of the medication test.

Patient assessment and monitoring skills are essential for this position.

Basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs, chart documentation, and preparing patients for exams.

Computer skills and basic office equipment operation skills are required.

The ability to accept, implement and evaluate change.

The ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple priorities with demands on time while remaining calm.

The ability to be organized in work habits.

Excellent customer service skills are required for this position.
