Acute Care CDI Content Management Consultant (New Health Care Company)

We expect the creation of the two companies will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2024. We will continue to operate as one global company. This role is positioned to drive the success of the "New Health Care Company".

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Acute Care CDI Content Management Consultant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Imparting their knowledge and expertise in CDI, inpatient coding, DRG methodologies, risk adjustment, quality indicators, comorbidity indices, clinical documentation integrity and coding compliance to both their customers and their internal team members as well. Maintaining training materials and resources related to 3M Consulting Service's inpatient clinical documentation improvement (CDI) program training program. Working closely with the 3M Technical Writing team using their editing software. Managing all things related to 3M Consulting Services weekly CDI Network including coordinating and scheduling topics and speakers, editing speaker presentations, hosting the weekly sessions among other duties. Working directly and/or collaborate with the coding and clinical team members as well as customers.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND seven (7) years of clinical coding experience or acute care CDI experience.

OR High School Diploma/GED from AND eleven (11) years of clinical coding experience or acute care CDI experience.

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: RHIA, RHIT with CCS certification or Valid RN or License with minimum of five (5) years acute care experience Minimum of five (5) years of CDI experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or other healthcare clinical background Preferred 7 years in advanced CDI or Health Information Management (HIM) services consulting and/or managing CDI or coding functions in mid-to-large size acu e care hospital setting Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG methodologies experience and deep understanding of clinical documentation, medical record coding, healthcare billing and revenue cycle management Working knowledge of risk-adjusted methodologies (e.g., APR DRGs) and quality of care measures (e.g., HACs, PSIs) Ability to perform in-depth review of Federal Register, ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Guidelines and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding updates to synthesize/distill information in an effort to update and maintain CDI materials and resources
