This job was posted by https://idahoworks.gov : For more information, please see: https://idahoworks.gov/jobs/2210804 We invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor who will teach in our undergraduate community health promotion program and our Masters of Public Health prevention and intervention programming emphasis area. These programs prepare students to design and coordinate interventions with integrated health education and promotion, policy, and regulatory components focused on multiple levels of influence. They emphasize working with local communities to develop policy and deliver programming meant to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, priority groups, and the community-at-large. Applicants with additional expertise in health communications, social marketing, or program/policy leadership are especially encouraged to apply.

This position requires a high level of teaching effectiveness, a commitment to community impact-focused research and scholarly activities, and professional service that advances our school, university, profession, and the communities we serve.

This nine-month, tenure track position will be working primarily at the Boise State University campus teaching live courses. Some evenings/weekends may be included, depending on assigned workload.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This tenure-track position requires a doctoral degree in public health, health education and promotion, health policy, health communications, or related discipline.
  • A defined research agenda and evidence of a scholarly record or evidence of potential for developing a clear research agenda and sustained publication record.
  • A record of effectively using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods data and analytical skills to support your research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate level teaching experience.
  • Live teaching experience and a dedication to teaching in person. Online and/or hybrid teaching experience may also be helpful, but is not the main focus of this position.
  • Practical experience in community health promotion activities related to policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proficient in R and Excel/Google Sheets.
