FIVE COUNTY ASSN OF GOVTS Weatherization Technician in CEDAR CITY, Utah

Weatherization Technician needed for a Cedar City, UT employer.

With the Five County Association of Governments, the Weatherization program is seeking a qualified individual to join its successful team in Cedar City, UT. The Weatherization Technician will perform a variety of activities to weatherize homes and make them more energy efficient which may include repairing windows, insulating ducts, and performing heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) work. The tech may be asked to assist with energy audits and advise clients on energy conservation measures. A qualified applicant will have previous general construction experience. WAGES AND BENEFITS:

•        Starting salary is $3,483.00 monthly.

•        The work schedule is Monday-Thursday, ten hours per day. The worksite address is 2344 W. Industry Way #2 in Cedar City, Utah.

JOB DUTIES:

•        Conduct home energy assessments, combustion safety testing, and infrared scanning to evaluate existing conditions and recommend energy efficiency improvements to residential homes.

•         Promote and encourage the adoption of energy-saving measures recommended in the home energy assessment.

•        Assist in performing the physical labor to make these changes. This may include carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work. At times, this work may need to be performed in attics or crawl spaces.

EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

•         Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.

•         Exhibit a general knowledge of construction principles and installation procedures.

•         Must show a willingness to learn, work well with others, and be willing to take orders as well as show the ability to work alone.

•         Must be reliable, dependable, self-motivated, and cooperative.

•         Must have emotional resilience, empathy, and compassion relating to the client's socioeconomic situation.

•         Must be physically able to inspect a building and willing to climb ladders, access crawl spaces, under trailers, and attics in homes, and be willing to get dirty regularly.

•         Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

•         Must have a valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance, and submit to a criminal background check.
