UC HEALTH LLC Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator in CINCINNATI, Ohio

Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator, Full-time, Trauma Center UC Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our team as a Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator! The Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator will provide outreach and community-based injury prevention programming at the local, regional, and national levels in accordance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) requirements for a Level 1 & Level 3 Trauma Center. They will review trauma data and work collaboratively with community groups on prevention and outreach programs. The Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator will plan, develop, and implement all injury prevention and outreach programs while managing current and new programs. They will also develop grant and research projects, including writing IRBs and working with medical staff to get IRB approval and complete research; work on special projects of the Trauma Center, such as the Trauma Symposium and evaluate the impact and outcomes of prevention and outreach programs. Seek out and apply for grant funding opportunities from sources within and outside the institution to support injury prevention and outreach efforts. The incumbent is responsible for promoting UC Medical Center as a tertiary referral center by establishing and maintaining relationships with referring agencies and community members throughout the region. The Trauma Outreach and Prevention Coordinator will provide leadership, direction, and coordination for the UC Medical Center & West Chester Hospital Trauma Center's injury prevention and outreach strategies, aimed at reducing the burden of injury in our community. Periodically assists with Injury Prevention and Outreach activities for UCMC's burn program.

  • Bachelor's Degree, minimum required.
  • Master's Degree, preferred.
  • Ohio RN License, required.
  • Previous experience with community prevention with program development focused on public health outreach required.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge pertaining to trauma patient care across the continuum.
  • Knowledge of trauma statistical reports, peer review, performance improvement and injury prevention, and epidemiology.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with trauma team members, external leaders, and the public.
  • Ability to think proactively, act creatively, and exercise critical thinking.
  • Ability to work in diverse cultural community groups.
  • Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
