Clean Harbors Reactor Operator in Cleveland, Ohio

Clean Harbors in Cleveland, OH is looking to add a Reactor Operator to our team. The Reactor Operator , offloads and performs treatments on drum and bulk loads. Joining an established team to help process incoming waste that is generated by customers that Clean Harbors services.

Shift: Day shift for training 4-6 weeks; then it will be evening shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Samples and offloads inbound tankers, fills out final truck offloading document, and performs treatments in the reactor as instructed by the laboratory. Some loads will require a red flag review before processing;

  • Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the reactor, this includes maintaining scrubber logs;

  • Assures unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the reactor immediately upon discovery to management and maintenance;

  • Assures reactor is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is not consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and checklist parameters;

  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements as well as scanning operations. All logs will need to be maintained according to site specific permits;

  • Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures;

  • Reviews all applicable SOP’s and satisfactorily completes quizzes;

  • Ensures, understands and has ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards;

  • Always must work within laboratory prescribed treatment recipes. Must communicate any deviations immediately from permit required conditions;

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment;

  • Understands Clean Compliance Standard.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;

  • 1+ years of treatment operations or operations experience;

  • Ability to work in team environment;

  • Proficiency in Windows based applications;

  • Knowledge of reactor system, its safeguards, capabilities, and procedure preferred.
