SK Battery America, Inc. Mechatronics Engineer in Commerce, Georgia
- D esign, develop, and integrate advanced automation systems for lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes , ensuring seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering components to optimize efficiency and productivity ;
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the performance and efficiency of battery manufacturing systems ;
- Analyze data from production processes to identify opportunities for enhancement and develop strategies to achieve system operational excellence ;
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechatronic systems within the battery manufacturing environment, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets ;
- Develop preventive maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and longevity of manufacturing equipment ;
- Collaborate with the cross-functional team to innovate and streamline battery manufacturing processes ;
- Propose and implement novel solutions leveraging mechatronics engineering principles to enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve time-to-market for electric vehicle batteries ;
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in battery manufacturing systems and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard against disruptions and ensure operational continuity ;
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to address safety, security, and reliability concerns ;
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advancements in mechatronics engineering, battery technology, and manufacturing automation ;
- Evaluate new tools, equipment, and methodologies to assess their potential impact on battery production processes and make recommendations for adoption or integration ;
- Provide training and mentorship to local technicians on the operation and maintenance of mechatronic systems and equipment ;and
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of mechatronic systems, including technical specifications, operating procedures, and compliance documentation .
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Engineering or other closely related field of study;
Over 10 years of experience in the automotive parts industry;
Over 8 years of experience in production system maintenance;
Technical Knowledge in mechatronics engineering principles; and
Analytical skills and proficiency in integrated automated production systems.
