About you and this role

You will contribute to manufacturing operations by conducting laboratory analyses and assessing results as necessary, delivering crucial data. Responsibilities include sample preparation, basic calibration, and preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, along with troubleshooting solutions. Utilizing data systems, you will acquire and monitor analytical system performance data, reporting results to LIMS and other relevant applications. This role demands expanded technical proficiency in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to execute a specified range of tasks and may involve serving as an informal mentor for less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine analyses and collects samples as per the Sample Plan.

  • Prepares basic calibration standards and conducts basic calibration and preventative maintenance of analytical systems.

  • Evaluate data validity, apply basic statistical methods, interpret results, and take appropriate action.

  • Monitors analytical systems, identifies problems, conducts initial troubleshooting, and escalates issues as necessary.

  • Documents communicates, and archives analytical results and calibration data.

  • Adheres to EH&S and operating discipline management system (ODMS) procedures for work tasks.

  • Suggests improvements to lab work processes and tools.

  • Escalates non-routine requests to the appropriate team member for follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Vocational Education or Upper Secondary Education (i.e. High School Diploma) plus laboratory, manufacturing or other related experience.

  • Post Upper Secondary Education coursework in chemistry or related coursework.

  • Good level of english

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in analytical test
