Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (PRN)

Fast-paced, high volume Care Transition department is looking for a top CTR Specialist.

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: PRN; Weekdays (8:00a – 5:00p)

Care Transition Department highlights:

· Work with multidisciplinary team

· Recreational group and recreational assessment in inpatient and outpatient setting

· Flexible schedule

Here’s What You Need

· Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy or related discipline required

· 2 years of healthcare related Counseling or Social Work preferred

· CTRS – Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist upon hire required and

· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days required

What You Will Do

Performs age-appropriate patient treatment:

· Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

· Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license

· Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely

· Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary

· Determine patient response to treatment and evaluate progress (reassessment)

· Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care:

· Obtain/verify physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.

· Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.

· Ensure that patient has given informed consent to treatment.

· Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements.

· Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care needs with patient and family.

· Sets appropriate measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences.
