Position Summary:

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate tocare team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Identifiesand resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards,policiesand procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a school of nursingrequired. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact staterequired
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in area of practicerequired
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able towork in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
