Job Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a general radiologic technologist.

Radiography Technologist II: Level II is intended for candidates with 1 - 3 years of experience with required fluoroscopy competency. Denver Health is invested in its team members, and we will help you get here if you do not yet qualify! On the job training is available to qualify for this level.

Essential Functions:

Performs high quality general radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging studies by selecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image for use by radiologists in their determination of a diagnosis. Acquire and maintain super user status for Fluoroscopy units. A thorough clinical understanding of intricacies of fluoroscopy necessities. Successful implementation of knowledge encompassing a diverse set of practical skills to ensure safe and effective application of specialized medical imaging techniques within Fluoroscopy. Provide cross coverage support when staffing needs arise. Acquire and maintain super user status for specialized perioperative service imaging needs. This includes, but is not limited to, the O Arm and 3D C Arm. Ability to access PEX editor on fixed units (Siemens) to amend protocols as needed. Acquire and maintain knowledge of all pediatric subspecialties including all essential mobile imaging standards along with Non-Accidental Trauma studies. (50%)

Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities. Uses Epic to input patient examination data and to place patient orders, when appropriate. (

Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines to include use of 2 patient identifiers. Transports patients to and from the Department of Radiology, as needed, to prevent patient flow delays. (15%)

Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing general radiographic examinations. (5%)

Attends and participates in departmental huddles, general intradepartmental meetings, and Radiology's inservices. (5%)

Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operational intricacies of the advanced perioperative imaging systems to fellow Radiography Technologists. Acquire and maintain super user status for all radiographic imaging equipment including fixed and mobile units. Provide comprehensive training on all nuanced functionalities and operational intricacies of the imaging systems present for use by Radiography Technologists. (5%)

Contacts service personnel and notifies supervisory staff of equipment malfunctions. Maintains a clean and orderly working environment through wip ng down examination tables, changing linens, stocking supplies, and washing/disinfecting general radiographic equipment. (5%)

Education:

Associate's Degree and successfully completed an accredited ARRT program in Radiologic Technolgies. Required

Work Experience:

1-3 years of professional work experience in performing general radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures Required

Licenses:
