We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting. Communicate with physicians/Director of Nursing/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patients clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

DUTIES:

  • Plans and manages patient care according to each patients needs
  • Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition
  • Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, allergies, and current meds and respiration
  • Provides routine care for patients
  • Observes patients health
  • Reviews medical charts
  • Communicates with patients and their families
  • Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler
  • Prepares specimens for lab
  • Administers medications
  • Evaluates and documents intervention and patient response to treatment
  • Administers enemas douches, perineal care, Foley Cath care, colostomy care, and suppositories.
  • Follows and adheres to isolation techniques and universal exposure control procedures for infection control
  • Assist patients with mobility, transferring to and from wheelchair, stretcher, commode, or ambulatory status with or without crutch or walker assistance
  • Assist physician in emergency care

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • One (1) years experience in a hospital setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSURE, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Kansas or a compact Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain BLS certification within 60 days and always maintain a valid CPR certification during his/her employment.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtain ACLS certification within the first year of employment and always maintain a valid ACLS certification during his/her employment.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or obtain PALS certification within the first year of employment and always maintain a valid PALS certification during his/her employment.
