We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a EHS Manager to help support our Hydraulics business at our Pacoma branch in Eschwege, Germany. Pacoma is one of the world's leading suppliers of hydraulic cylinders. Our cylinders are extensively used in the construction machinery industry, the automobile industry, and in engineering applications as well as in logistics and material handling. Furthermore our cylinders can also be used in agricultural and maritime applications etc. Pacoma stands out with its individual designs, its consistently superior global quality and its high-capacity production facilities. Our factory in Eschwege, Germany, can singularly handle a quarter million units per year working at normal capacity. With the opening of a dynamic modern facility in China in 2011, Pacoma is even better positioned to serve its customers with high output and convenient logistics. Our success is the product of decades of experience. Over the course of more than 40 years, we have developed, designed and produced hydraulic cylinders of nearly every possible type. Our aim of developing and maintaining long-term relationships with our customers means that you can rely on our comprehensive technical expertise and top quality innovative products. Your tasks include:

  • Planning, implementation, monitoring and optimization of operational processes in all EHS areas

  • Introducing EHS standards and contributing to the creation of risk assessments to ensure the safety-related support of our operational areas.

  • You are a senior safety specialist for Pacoma GmbH in Eschwege

  • Tracking and participation in material declarations and restrictions (RoHS, REACH)

  • They advise and support the management and employees in the specialist areas of immission control, water and fire protection as well as waste and hazardous goods

  • You carry out approval procedures (BlmSchG) and accompany them from the beginning to commissioning

  • You participate in and/or carry out training and instruction in the EHS area

  • You plan and accompany internal and external EHS compliance audits

  • You are the contact person for our customers and suppliers on EHS-specific issues

    To be successful in this role, you need

  • Completed studies in the technical field or comparable training

  • Training as a safety specialist

  • Sound knowledge of the relevant regulations of German environmental and occupational safety law

  • Sound knowledge of DIN EN ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001, as well as DIN ISO 50001 desirable

  • Specialist knowledge of waste, hazardous incident, immission control, fire protection, water protection and dangerous goods legislation desirable

  • Good to very good SAP and MS Office skills

  • Organizational skills, strong communication skills and social competence

  • Business fluent in German and English
