Sutter Health Program Assistant — Partial Hospitalization Program in ‘Ewa Beach, Hawaii
Located on 14.5 park-like acres, Kahi Mohala's 88-bed facility is Hawaii's only private, freestanding psychiatric hospital. Kahi Mohala provides comprehensive behavioral health services for adults, adolescents and children experiencing problems with psychiatric disorders, anxiety, depression, eating disorders. The buildings and grounds offer a complete residential environment with an emphasis on patient safety and security.
The Program Assistant oversees the day-to-day operations of the unit in an efficient and effective manner. Activities include answering telephones and routing messages; greeting and scheduling patient treatment team meetings; coordinating admissions with Program Manager and Call Center; maintaining and updating patient charts; monitoring performance improvement issues related to patient discharges; obtaining new service authorizations and collaborating with Utilization reviewers for continued authorizations when needed; assisting with patient denials routed by Patient Financial Services; ordering and maintaining program supplies; distribution of mail; overseeing basic property management concerns and assisting with special projects. The Program Assistant performs Program Specialist duties in the milieu as needed for supervision and interventions with patients. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School graduate or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or education. Preferred. Completion of courses in general business, basic accounting and business writing, prior office management and billing-related experience preferred.
Experience: Front office and milieu experience preferred.
The Program Assistant should have a working knowledge of overall organizational operations and be familiar with basic aspects of the services and clinical programs. Working knowledge of current DSM. Knowledge of managed care and the requirements of third party payors preferred. Familiarity with medical and mental health terminology desirable.
Basic office equipment and computer skills are required; knowledge of AS400 program helpful. Ability to multi-task and problem-solve; good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal communication and customer service skills required. Ability to engage with patient population. Valid Driver's License is required.
