JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20809 JOB DETAILS: WORKING TITLE: Assistant Teaching Professor - Human Biology & Nutritional Science UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Teaching Assistant Professor POSTING DATE: April 29, 2024 START DATE: August 26, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Human Biology program at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Nutritional Sciences. The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is interdisciplinary in nature and has a strong history of preparing students for careers in health science, including nutritional science where we have been extremely effective in preparing students for a career in dietetics. This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay\'s mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. This position includes the following responsibilities: - Teaching a course load of 27 (\9 courses) credits per academic year in Nutritional Science with opportunities to teach other courses in the Human Biology program. - Teaching assignment could include any lower-level nutritional science courses, e.g., Food and Nutritional Health, Ethnic Influences on Nutrition, etc. with face-to-face teaching expected and the possibility of online instruction. - Teaching assignment may include upper level nutrition science courses based on the applicant\'s areas of expertise and experience. - Teaching assignment may include graduate nutrition science courses based on the applicant\'s areas of expertise and experience. - A small portion of the person\'s teaching load may also be allocated to work with the clinical care coordinator in teaching and supporting the supervised practicum component of the integrated master\'s / RDN program. - Depending on the candidate\'s areas of expertise, this instructor may also contribute to teaching lower level Human Biology courses or a First-year seminar course. - Participation in Nutrition Science and Human Biology meetings, and committee work as it pertains to ongoing program and curricular development and assessment. - Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay. - Advise and mentor students. SPECIAL NOTES: The home campus of this position is Green Bay, and the successful candidate may be required to teach an occasional course at the Marinette, Sheboygan, or Manitowoc Campus. Position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s).
