Queen's Health System Business Services Support Specialist - CareResource Hawaii (Full-Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

Starting Pay:

$18.00 to $20.70 hourly rate

The starting pay above may be higher commensurate with experience.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the general direction of the Business Services Manager, provides support services to the Medicare Certified Division staff. Performs a variety of duties including verification of health insurance claims numbers and benefits coverages; process and obtains insurance authorizations; assists with referral intake process, maintains and processes incoming FAXs via Billing FAX server.

• Orders medical supplies for patients; maintains medical supply/equipment inventory.

• Performs various duties including data entry, word processing, creating, and maintaining files, assembling, and distributing required material data for reports and projects.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking,

• Constant: sitting, reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion and frequent gripping of objects.

• Frequent: standing, walking, stooping/bending, and twisting body.

• Occasional: lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 3.5 pounds of force.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Frequent exposure to noises typical of an office environment.

• Minimal exposure to toxic substances and communicable diseases.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Prior office experience; answering telephones and contacting people.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to operate office equipment including facsimile, calculator, and copier with accuracy.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Ability to verbally communicate with people to obtain basic information (via telephone, e-mail or in person).

• One (1) year work experience in a home care organization or healthcare office environment preferred.
