UH Lakewood Medical Center is located between Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, Missouri, offering residents of Eastern Jackson County access to a modern community hospital with a continuum of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of families. UH Lakewood specializes in high-risk maternal and child care, and serves as one of the few Kansas City metro area institutions accredited by The Joint Commission in Orthopedics and Palliative Care. It also is home to a 188-bed, fully accredited long-term care center.

UH Behavioral Health is the KC metro area’s largest, most comprehensive provider of mental health services. The Crossroads Building , located in Kansas City’s vibrant Crossroads Arts District, is its epicenter, providing a broad list of outpatient services. We also offer psychiatric inpatient care, and we deliver therapeutic services through our community outreach clinics. We are a leader in the Trauma-Informed Care Movement, and provide training, coaching and consulting to outside organizations.

Job Description

Works with contracted technology solutions provider to maintain enterprise security solutions and infrastructure delivering high availability of performance. Works with contracted technology solutions provider to perform system maintenance activities. Works with contracted technology solutions providers to validate security risk assessments on new applications, equipment, or systems under review for adherence to security standards. Works with contracted technology solutions providers to identify and remediate issues and risk identified through assessments, audits, and rounding. Reviews available reports, files, logs and messages produced by analysts, administrators and systems identifying possible security incidents or infractions. Coordinates information security incident investigations and reporting. Support proactive security and privacy audits on a regular basis and develops a mitigation strategy to ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards. Promote security awareness and training through presentations, regular communications, training, and information security rounding. Presents a courteous and helpful demeanor, appropriate for age, to all patients, visitors, other employee/medical staff members, or any other person an employee encounters while representing the organization. Maintains current knowledge related to applicable statutes, regulations, guidelines and standards necessary to perform job duties in accordance with requirements of the Corporate Compliance Plan. Complies with the requirements of the Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Plan and Compliance Policies and Procedures, including training requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree or an approved equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

  • A minimum of two years of information security experience, with an additional five years of professional level experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge within information technology; considerable knowledge of information security principles, processes, technologies, and practices

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work and communicate effectively

  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment

  • Have knowledge of information security regulations (HIPAA Privacy/Security and NIST)

  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities

  • Knowledge of Cisco firewalls, antivirus, Splunk, and IDP/S

  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows

Preferred

  • Information Security certifications (e.g., CHPC, CISSP, CISA, CISM)

  • Healthcare experience preferred
