Sutter Health Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, CLS - Microbiology (Per-Diem) Varied Shift in Livermore, California
Under the direction of the Technical Supervisor and Technical Manager perform and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of technical procedures on pediatric, adult and geriatric patients in one or more discipline of the Clinical Laboratory. Responsible for validity of test results, result reporting, specimen handling, and maintenance of necessary department records. If working at a Clinical Laboratory Scientist perform testing as allowed per CA BPC.
BA/BS Degree Required
Clinical Laboratory Scientist License - CLS-L within 60 days of hire Required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory required
May be completed through CLS or MLT Training program
Ability to work with laboratory information system.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and EXCEL
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, rate ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to perform basic statistical functions.
Adheres to all Shared Laboratory policies and procedures (i.e. Administrative and Human Resources), practices safe work habits, and engages in good business standards and practices.
