A large client who is a leader among global investment managers, with $189 billion in assets under management, is looking for a Solutions Engineer/Architect to join the Investment & Trading Technology team. The ideal candidate will play a hands-on role to architect, design and modernize the current technology systems as well as build, develop and manage these systems to solve business issues effectively. The organization is on a multi-year journey to enhance the technology landscape by adopting modern tools and leveraging modern hosting solutions such as the public clouds. This role/individual will directly impact how the ITT development community creates software that enhances the team's business outcome. The ideal candidate will be passionate about backend engineering and have expertise in several languages including Java, .Net, C#, AWS, MS SQL Server, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Experience designing, developing large complex systems from scratch is very important. The candidate will develop effective and productive working relationships with peer technologists, analysts and key business stakeholders including Investment Professionals, Trade Support, and like groups, to effect change and drive successful outcomes via an Agile/DevOps delivery model. Creating leverage through effective leadership of offshore resources will be key to our success. The candidate will be hands-on 90+% of the time and will ideally have a form of capital market background/industry experience.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related STEM subjects

• 8+ years of experience of software development experience

• Experience in uplifting monolithic technology architecture to microservices

• Experience building interactive web applications and an interest in adopting modern technologies.

• Experience with relational and/or non-relational database technologies.

• Excellent programming and software design skills in object orientated programming.

• Experience in developing and delivering API-based solutions.

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools and containerization technologies

• Experience writing asynchronous code.

• Experience with developing and coding using Java, .Net, C#, AWS, Azure CI/CD pipelines, MS SQL

• Previous experience moving to an AWS/Cloud model

• Experience in integration with Investment Management platforms / large scale trading technology -- Portfolio management systems, trading systems, and order management systems.

• Demonstrated experience working in Agile team settings.
