JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Research Specialist position will work with the Prostate Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) program and the Integrated Pathology and Radiology Core (iPRC) at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. A focus of the Prostate SPORE is to support cutting edge research in prostate cancer. This position will involve tissue procurement, cutting whole-mount sections, managing prostate FFPE blocks, glass, and digital whole mount slides, correlating digital images, and performing biomarker analysis. This position will also involve working with radiology imaging data software. Responsibilities: Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision. 75% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results 5% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area.
