Avera is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

    Job Summary

  • Perform general nursing care to patient

  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examinations. Obtain height/weight, blood pressure and medical history information.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

  • Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to the provider.

  • Assists in the orientation of new clinic nursing staff.

  • Position will work in all areas of both clinics.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required upon hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire

  • The following are required within 6 months of hire (or first available course):

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • If working in Inreach or Internal Medicine Clinic where stress tests are performed.

  • Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)

  • If working in Memory Care Clinic

  • The following are required within 6 months of hire (or first available course) if working in Occupational Medicine Clinic:

  • Federal Drug Screens (Escreen and Profile drug tests, to independently administer to patients)

  • Breath Alcohol Tests (to independently administer to patients)

  • Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (COAHC, audiology)

  • National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (pulmonary function tests)

  • Varies; as needed position

  • PRN

  • For Internal candidates: As a bargaining member you would be considered cross trained in this position.
