Job Summary:We are seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for our OR. This individual will be who is responsible for the nursing process in the Perioperative care of the patient and p erforms duties normally dedicated to the circulating nurse. The RN must comply with AAAHC, CMS and CDC/APIC, AORN, State, and facility standards and guidelines. Duties include but no limited to:

• Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.

• Prepares the operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure to be performed.

• Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues growth and development.

• Functions as a role model for current and new staff.

• Demonstrates a professional manner.

• Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, center/service safely, and specific job-related hazards.

• Follows the center exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  Experience/Training/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in the field of nursing preferred.

• Minimum of One (1) year of multispecialty operating room experience and a demonstration of knowledge of OR theory and practice required. Three (3) years of experience preferred.

• ASC experience preferred.

  Certifications/Licenses:

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required.

• BLS and ACLS. PALS certifications required. PALS required within 30 days from date of hire.

• CNOR preferred.

  Other Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all accreditation preparation and compliance with all standards for AAAHC, CMS and CDC/APIC, and State guidelines.

• Demonstrates compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.

• Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.

• Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.

• Must have knowledge of PC and applications.

• Must have experience is standard office equipment. e. computers, copy machines, and telephones.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Effective interpersonal skills.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
