Sutter Health Cook - Food and Nutrition Services - Full Time Temporary in Oakland, California

Position Overview:

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is San Francisco East Bay's largest private, not-for-profit medical center with a total of 1,082 licensed beds. Each of our campuses has 24-hour emergency, obstetric and medical/surgical services in both Oakland and Berkeley. Under supervision is responsible for the preparation, cooking, quality and presentation and service of food for patients, cafeteria, and catering events.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent. One or more years in a college program or culinary academy preferred. Must be able to speak, read and understand English. 3 years experience on-the-job-training as a cook or cook's helper. Ability to meet and greet customers pleasantly and courteously. Ability to maintain good customer relations. Must be able to interpret and execute menu and orders for special diets. Must be knowledgeable in food production and batch cooking. Must be able to utilize portion control and be able to read and follow standardized recipes. Must be knowledgeable in safe food handling practices and procedures.
