Job Title: Site EHS Specialist

Summary:The Site EHS Specialist directs the implementation and maintenance of site EHS programs, and MPM internal EHS management system. The position provides leadership and technical expertise to meet MPM EHS performance objectives and ensures compliance with local regulations & requirements, and EHS polices through partnership with all related managers and employees at the site. The Ohta Site Leader and Japan EHS Leader will ensure application of EHS technical expertise as appropriate.

Responsibilities Include:

Operational EHS Management

  • Co-work with global/COE team for site Operational EHS improvement. Cascade requirement of local regulation and Momentive EHS requirement and lead/support implementation of EHS programs in site.

  • Arrange and conduct survey and check in site, looking into facility process, health and safety as well as employee behaviors.

  • Conduct regular plant tour to identify the gaps and implementation of improvement plan.

  • Lead, coordinate participate in EHS performance improvement initiatives, maintain and follow up monitoring plan and other EHS routine tasks like new regulation check, environmental & waste management etc of data maintenance and safety metrics.

  • Participate to other EHS initiatives such as environment and safety in site.

Auditing & Management Systems

  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems in support of the Momentive EHS policies. Lead both internal and external audit and follow up.

  • Support site element owners to penetrate EHS requirement to the site

  • Lead and support site for personal exposure reduction.

  • Provide guidance to site in identifying and tracking appropriate metrics and assessing site performance.

    Training

  • Coordinate and maintain site training system

  • Train associates on requirements and procedures for EHS compliance

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Act as an interface between regional/global EHS & site

  • Coordinate and implement EHS site projects

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree+ in engineering, chemistry, environmental science or equivalent combination of backgrounds or experience.

  • Have conversational level oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Have passion, willing to learn, and to take challenges.
