Mille Lacs Health System Clinical Quality Specialist in Onamia, Minnesota

Summary

The position works under the direction of the Quality Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and other patient related agencies, such as Press Ganey, DHS, AHA, and others. The job requires highly professional written and verbal communication with the public, clients, families, medical staff, ancillary departments and administration. Other major job functions include but are not limited to: collection of quality data; utilization review; monitoring variances from expected outcomes and analysis of data. Diversified job requiring sustained mental effort and ability to deal with stresses related to interpersonal relationships.

Job Duties

  • Collect quality data from all manual and electronic medical records and report trends and outcomes.*

  • Review utilization and report.*

  • Monitor variances from expected outcomes.*

  • Analyze data and recommend action to manager.*

  • Coordinate efforts as directed with department stakeholders related to performance improvement or utilization review.*

  • Provide support and guidance to department managers in regard to improvement projects.

  • Collaborates with Quality Team in maintaining participation and clinical support of data systems to include core measures and other quality registries that MLHS participates in.*

  • Produce or assist in the production of reporting to leaders and agencies.*

  • Identify and collect data as directed to support MLHS award and accolades.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Registered Nurse Degree with Minnesota Licensure

  • Must have at least five years of nursing experience with at least one year of critical care/ED experience preferred.

    Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Experience in CAH Conditions of Participation and experience and competency with statistical data collection and reporting

  • Experience in Utilization Management/Discharge Planning preferred.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    Business/Clerical: This position's regular workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
