JOB REQUIREMENTS: Official Title: Laboratory Manager Business Title: Employment Class: Non-Instructional Academic Staff FTE: 1.0 Compensation: 48,000 - 52,000 FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: Annual, Fixed Term Renewable Position Summary: The Laboratory Manager position reports to the Associate Director at the Environmental Research and Innovation Center (ERIC). The ERIC is a state-of-the-art research and testing lab that offers a full range of water, renewable energy, and compost testing capabilities. The Lab Manager will support and oversee the laboratory students working at the Environmental Research and Innovation Center. The Lab Manager will also provide clients with project reports and manage client research and development projects. Field Sampling and Remote Project Duties (35%) Conduct site visits as needed by current projects including TNCs and TRHs Interact with clients and facility owners as needed Complete required paperwork and reporting for site visits B. Laboratory Duties (35%) Train new student laboratory assistants and staff. Update training program as needed Oversee laboratory assistants working in the lab on a day-to-day basis Schedule student work hours for weekends and special projects Develop and implement new laboratory policies and procedures Develop and implement new laboratory methods Update and maintain standard operating procedures for all laboratory tests Perform routine equipment maintenance C.
