Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist I

Responsibilities:

• Performs all diagnostic testing and quality controls

• Prepares reagents

• Reports results according to established policies and procedures

• Reviews and oversees moderate to high complexity testing

• Uses, monitors, and maintains computer applications appropriate to the position

• Maintains equipment and supplies

• Works independently and in a team

• Must have customer service and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrates organizational, time management, critical thinking, written, and verbal skills

• Uses and understands medical terminology

• Candidate must be eligible to qualify for the ASCP Cytogenetics Certification Examination process.

• Candidate understands that this position will meet the training requirements of a1 year training program in Clinical Cytogenetics.

• Candidate Must be registered and sit for exam to obtain American Society for Clinical Pathology in Cytogenetics (ASCPCG) within 18 months AND obtain ASCP Certification within 2 years of employment.

• Upon successful completion of ASCP Cytogenetics Certification, candidate will add Cytogenetics specialty to Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
