Craft Supervisor-- Palatka, FL

Job Summmary:

Manage and supervise the maintenance team to ensure work is completed and meets industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of those under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. Work with or supervise other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Read and understand plans and specifications.

• With regard to that portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.

• Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed.

• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

• Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

• Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

• Be able to perform all of the essential functions of craft workers under his/her supervision. Perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of that work assigned.

• Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner.

• Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.

• Be motivated and work productively.

• Perform all other job related duties as requested by supervisor.

Experience:

• At least 5 years as Lead/Supervisor

• Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for the members of his/her crew.

• Must have Welding/Fabrication experience.

• Must have experience with insulation.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign

• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds

• Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above

• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas Must have full range of motion consistent with age.

• Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders

• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises

• Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces

• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required
