Job Description Summary
Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt in Research Services: Research Assistant/Practice Facilitator
This research study is evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of Practice Facilitation as an intervention to increase uptake of PrEP for HIV prevention among women who inject drugs in primary care settings. Practice Facilitators use organizational approaches to build the internal capacity of a clinic to support it in reaching its goals for healthcare delivery. Under the guidance of the PI, the Practice Facilitator will work with up to 4 primary care clinics in PA to assess barriers to prescribing PrEP to women who inject drugs, implement strategies to overcome these barriers, and plan for sustainability when the Practice Facilitator is gone.
Job Description
The Practice Facilitator (PF) will:
Build a trusting relationship with clinic leadership and champions to serve as a resource for each clinic to improve the provision, uptake, and sustained delivery for PrEP to WWID;
Provide logistical support to clinics, including helping the champion troubleshoot a) initial screening for patient eligibility and interest; b) fitting PrEP delivery into the existing clinic visit or adding PrEP-specific visits to the clinic schedule; c) follow-up monitoring to toxicity, long-term management, adherence, and HIV testing; d) linkage to care for those who become HIV-infected; and e) promotion of PrEP availability to WWID who are not yet patients;
Provide technical assistance in the form of staff training, education, and resources that will help with clinic culture and provider buy-in; and
Build external partnerships, such as connecting clinics with other organizations to ensure they have the resources to sustain PrEP delivery once the PF is gone.
Occasional travel to participating clinics within 3-hrs. of Philadelphia, PA will be required.*

Job Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent
2 years' experience in a healthcare related sector (experience working in primary care or an outpatient setting preferred)
Experience with project management, quality improvement and/or facilitation is desired
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Communicate effectively and constructively, orally and in writing
Able to work as part of a team, demonstrating trust, respect and integrity
Self-starter, able to take initiative and anticipate organizational needs
Objective and able to represent opinions and evidence fairly
Ability to manage conflict with diplomacy and tact

Pay Range
$7.25 - $35.00 Hourly Rate
