Description

We are offering a role for a Patient Registration Specialist in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The position involves ensuring patient registration and compliance with revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines, along with managing administrative duties. This role will be part of the healthcare industry and will take place in a dynamic workplace environment.

Responsibilities:

• Uphold compliance with organizational policies and procedures, ensuring that all operations align with the established standards.

• Manage compliance with revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines, maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

• Utilize computer skills to manage files and respond to inquiries, ensuring streamlined office functions.

• Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures accurately, providing a smooth experience for patients.

• Process privileged patient health information, maintain insurance verifications, and handle authorizations, ensuring patient data is managed securely and accurately.

• Balance daily receipts and respond to billing inquiries, managing the financial operations of the office.

• Schedule patient appointments, coordinating with other parties to ensure efficient scheduling.

• Order and maintain clinical supplies, office supplies, and equipment, ensuring smooth operations.

• Uphold compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA policies, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace.

Requirements

• Comfortable working in office, this is NOT A REMOTE POSITION! Position is located in Raleigh, NC!!

• Proficiency in Customer Service, demonstrating the ability to interact with patients, family members, and healthcare providers

• Knowledge of Office Functions and Procedures, including handling of patient records, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries

• Familiarity with Policy and Compliance requirements in a healthcare setting, especially those pertaining to patient data privacy and security

• Experience in Answering Inbound Calls, providing information to callers, and directing calls to appropriate personnel

• Understanding of Billing Functions and Audit procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines

• Ability to Perform Ad Hoc Financial tasks as needed, such as processing payments or reconciling billing discrepancies

• Knowledge of Clinical Trial Operations, HIPAA-Regulated procedures, and Authorizations

• Strong Computer Skills, including proficiency in healthcare management software, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience in overseeing Visits, including scheduling, facilitating, and following up on patient appointments

• Familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines in a healthcare setting

• Effective Communication skills, both oral and written, to interact with patients, their families, and healthcare providers

• Understanding of Regulatory Compliance in a healthcare setting, including CPT Codes and insurance requirements

• Experience in a Medical Office setting, particularly in patient registration or similar roles

• Proficiency in Insurance Verifications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient insurance information

• Familiarity with Surgery scheduling and coordination procedures

• Experience in managing Patient Appointments, including scheduling, reminders, and rescheduling

• Ability to handle Exhibits, such as patient education materials or promotional literature

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle Processes, including billing, collections, and reimbursement procedures.
