Overview:

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. The Wegmans School of Nursing produces nursing graduates trained to provide exceptional patient care. Program offerings include the traditional nursing and RN to BSN online programs at the undergraduate level, master’s programs in nursing and mental health counseling, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) degree program. The School’s graduate programs ranked No. 32 among the top nursing graduate programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Fisher nursing graduates consistently outpace their peers in passing the National Council Licensure Examination ( NCLEX ) on their first attempt, placing them in the top five percent of all New York schools.

The baccalaureate, master’s, and DNP programs at Fisher are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the mental health counseling program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs ( CACREP ).

Job Responsibilities:

The Wegmans School of Nursing invites applications for a full time, 12-month, on- campus, tenure track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level (with title of Assistant Professor) to begin May 2024. We are seeking 3 Full time 12 month APRN faculty with experience in Pediatrics, Acute Care clinical experience and Women’s Health Experience.

  • Teach graduate and undergraduate students in classroom, simulation learning center,

online, and clinical settings.

• Engage in an active program of research/scholarship

• Engage in various service activities within the school, College, the profession of nursing, and the community

• Maintain clinical and academic expertise

• Plan student learning experiences in achieving desired learning outcomes

• Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress

• Participate in curriculum development

• Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the school and College

• Other duties as determined by the Dean and Associate Deans.

Education / Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

• PhD, DNP , DNS in Nursing, conferred by the time of hire

• MS in Nursing from an accredited institution

• Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State, or ability to obtain by date of hire

• Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience Preferred Requirements:

• Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, academic experience in undergraduate or graduate nursing education

• Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation

• National and State certification in an advanced practice role Family Nurse Practitioner preferred

• Pediatric and/or FNP clinical experience as an APRN OR

• Acute care clinical experience as an APRN OR

• FNP with Women’s Health Experience.

• Established record of scholarship/research publications

• Established record of service
