Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Rochester, New York

Description We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team in the healthcare industry, situated in Rochester, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will be the first point of contact, providing customer service over the phone and in-person. You will be providing support and solutions to patients, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and more in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for patients, both over the phone and in person.

• Provide necessary support and solutions to patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance providers.

• Ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Familiarize yourself with and use Basic Medical Terminology and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in daily tasks.

• Maintain a professional and organized environment, ensuring the best customer service is provided.

• Keep track of patient appointments and records, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.

• Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare professionals when needed.

• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and compliance to healthcare regulations.

• Assist in other administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient operation of the healthcare facility. Requirements • Applicant must possess knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology.

• Experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records is required.

• Must be able to handle high volume incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, information retrieval, and record keeping is necessary.

• Must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines is crucial.

• Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is desirable.

• Strong customer service skills and ability to handle patient inquiries and complaints professionally and courteously is required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress effectively is essential.

• Must be able to work cooperatively in a team setting.

• Knowledge of insurance verification and billing procedures is desirable.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, is advantageous.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, higher education or certification in medical administration is a plus.
