Job Description:

The Estimator provides administrative and clerical support specifically related to cost estimating support for L3Harris Defense Communications. The position requires communication with contacts, typically within and outside the department, on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. The position will support creating quotes that include cost of items from the bill of material structure on a released or new design of a system or product.

Essential Functions:

• Read Engineering Drawings and Spec sheets to create cost estimates.

• Perform functions associated with quoting cost, delivery, and lead time for raw material and labor associated with Engineering designs and products supported by L3Harris Defense Manufacturing Operations.

• Evaluation and validity of historical estimates based on business rules.

• Estimate labor by working with production leads.

• Maintain files, Request for Quote’s for material and labor, and other related documentation on various systems.

• Prepare standard requests for quotations.

• Make recommendations for solutions to improve the process.

• Perform tasks requiring an understanding of Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing Engineering.

  Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with creating cost estimates, procurement, or proposals

  Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in manufacturing industry

• Experience reading engineering drawings or spec sheets

• Proficient in MS Office

• Strong communication skills

  In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $46,000 - $86,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
