Duties Description A Senior Physical Therapist plans and carries out the physical therapy program for a facility. Duties include, but are not limited to:• participating in unit program planning;• evaluating the physical and neurological status of patients and planning individual treatment programs;• performing and interpreting results of tests and measurements of the patient's condition for use in preparing the treatment plan, modifying treatment and evaluating results of treatment;• performing special tests to determine existence of neurological conditions or disease;• carrying out complex test procedures, determining kind and degree of muscular reactions to test, and interpreting results of test;• personally, plan and administer physical therapy for patients who have severe or acute physical disabilities, such as fractures, amputations, hemiplegia, peripheral nerve injuries, or other forms of paralysis;• serving on an interdisciplinary treatment team• may supervise trainees and subordinate staff.
