Sutter Health Grill Person in Roseville, California

Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The grill cook prepares short order grill cooking of items in the dining room. Coordinates own food production with others so foods are ready and served as specifies times. Prepares sandwiches and serves a variety of food to customers. The incumbent slices meat and cheese items and cashiers. In the cashiering role assures that proper cash handling techniques, cash records and security is maintained. May relieve in other food service production areas as needed to meet the needs of the department. Food prepared by the Grill Cook follows a recipe but does not take a high level of cooking expertise.

Principal Accountabilities

Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, equipment and other areas according to department standards.

Follows department safety and sanitation standards including proper use of chemicals and personal protective

equipment.

Follows Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for preparing and serving foods.

May be assigned to stock, serve, replenish foods in cafeteria, tray line or catering areas.

May be responsible for cafeteria cash handling following department procedures.

Meets dashboard goal for full performance of patient satisfaction.

Prepares and serves food products that meet department quality and quantity standards.

Takes and records food temperatures per policy, monitors amount of time potentially hazardous foods are in dangerzone.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education including Licensure/ Certification:

High School diploma or equivalent. Individual exceptions will be made if the applicant has had a work history

demonstrating the ability to perform in a similar position. Serve-safe certification required within 6 months of

employment.

Knowledge:

Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions. Must have sufficient mathematical ability to perform basic measurement and portioning activities including increasing and decreasing recipes.

Experience:

Previous food service production, cashiering and sanitation experience is desirable, but not necessary. Prior

experience demonstrating the ability to work with the public in a positive and friendly manner is desired. Prior

experience in food preparation is required. Basic grill cooking skills and sandwich making experience is required.

Skills:

Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
