Sutter Health Diagnostic Imaging Educator in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

Oversees, coordinates, and provides classroom/online training to enhance the skill level of the unit, including department orientation, skill assessment programs, and in-services, as needed, to certify staff competencies. Creates new programs and modifies existing curriculum/training materials to ensure classes are relevant and responsive to advances in technology, new equipment, changes in regulations, and adjustments in corporate needs. Develops and revises policies and procedures as well as assists in the maintenance of educational and competency records to meet regulatory and the Joint Commission (TJC) standards. Fostering an environment conducive to successful learning, serves as a preceptor for diagnostic imaging students on rotation and as a mentor for new graduate radiologic technologists. May also function as Diagnostic Imaging staff to maintain clinical skills and contribute to the performance and efficiency of the department.

Job Description :

LICENSED CANDIDATES

EDUCATION:

  • Other: Successful completion of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

  • OR NMT-Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist

  • OR ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

  • OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years recent relevant experience.

NON-LICENSED CANDIDATES

EDUCATION:

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the clinical and therapeutic services provided by the Diagnostic Imaging department.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and The Joint Commission standards.

  • Proficient in assessing educational needs, developing curriculum, instruction design process, planning and implementing training programs, conducting training sessions, and determining course effectiveness.

  • Possesses communications skills (written and verbal) in addition to project management skills.

  • Exceptional teaching and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and professionally communicate complex or sensitive information to diverse audiences.

  • Robust knowledge of word processing, presentation, and email software, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including expertise in diagnostic imaging technology (applications, tools, and equipment).

  • Work independently, as well as be part of a team, while demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Prioritize and delegate assignments under varied and urgent conditions and work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Identify and solve complex problems based on the analysis of multiple sources of information while providing new perspectives on existing solutions.

  • Perform individual skills/competency assessment and coaching.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, agency staff, nursing staff, physicians, students, other ancillary department members, management, and patients.

Pay Range is $47.28 to $70.92 / hour. Unlicensed Educator Pay Range is $36.89 to $46.11 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
