Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$49.377 - $63.712 - $78.048

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designed areas or procedures as required. May have individual responsibility for specified Nuclear Medicine procedures and /or may be assigned as a trainer for new employees.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

  • California Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board -REQUIRED

  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology (N)(ARRT) - ARRT OR NMTCB Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board -REQUIRED

Essential Functions

  • Clinical competencyCompliance of ICANL standards on continuing education.Attends at least 15 hours of nuclear medicine related CEUs over a three year period relevant to job.Attends at least three hours in each of the following: imaging, quality control/instrumentation and radiopharmaceuticals in nuclear medicine approved by CE (VOICE, ARRT-Category A, ASRT and AMA-Category 1).Copies of CEUs to be given to supervisor to keep in employee file.

  • IDXrad patient trackingPerforms all IDXrad patient tracking to include correcting an exam and beginning and completing the patient at the correct times.Check schedule and lobby throughout the day and at the end of shift to ensure all exams have been completed.

  • Nuclear medicine quality assurance testingPerforms all Nuclear Medicine QA testing required with supportive documentation as specified by regulatory agencies.Completes monthly QA of equipment.Monitors exposure levels of staff on monthly Dosimetry reports.Contacts quality assurance services for quarterly auditing of laboratory.

  • Room preparationGives the patient proper and thorough instructions.Follows established policies regarding the injection of radioactive materials.Follows daily protocols for accepting and delivering isotopes.Prepares the exam room and materials prior to the beginning of the exam and ensures that the correct exam is performed.

  • Technical skillsEvaluates nuclear medicine technique for optimum quality and proper identification for physician interpretation.Evaluates nuclear medicine tests with proper identification for physician interpretation.Assists physicians in reviewing nuclear studies, communicating clinical findings of significance.Demonstrate typing skills proficiency by: using a keyboard, required to type proficiently and accurately; have the ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors; have the ability to proof work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to give close attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, effective interpersonal and patient contact skills to execute radiographic techniques safely and according to accepted standards and to function under stress.

  • The ability to type 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors.
