Sutter Health Financial Counselor Fertility San Jose in San Jose, California
Under the general supervision, this position is responsible for the financial screening, counseling, and charge preparation for assigned specialty services. This position also requires knowledge to perform comprehensive audits on accounts with associated corrections regarding billing, payment, and adjustment errors; to perform these tasks within established time frames. The understanding of the insurance contracts held by PAMF including responding to telephone inquiries from patients and payer to resolve billing and payment issues for covered and non-covered services. Document and follow-up on account activity using patient notes screen and open claims. Collect patient co-payments and non-covered services as specified per contract guidelines. Answer incoming calls with courtesy and helpfulness. Meet acceptable phone volume performance standards.
REQUIRED: high school graduate or equivalent; two (2) years of hands on registration experience; two (2) years in medical group billing experience
PREFERRED: technical course completion in medical field billing or reception functions; two (2) years cashiering/registration experience in a medical environment; prior Fertility or OB/GYN experience
