Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital Volunteer in Sandy, Utah

Job Description:

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.

Alta View is currently seeking engaged and outgoing individuals who are available 4 hours per week for the following volunteer opportunities:

PATIENT HELPER

Patient Helper Volunteers work with patients as they visit our hospitals and clinics prior to their appointments. Volunteers answer questions about the hospital and Alta View services and can provide escorts for individuals needing wayfinding assistance (including wheelchair escorts). Volunteers are assigned one area of the hospital to manage but will be available to help in other areas as needed.

GIFT SHOP

Gift Shop Volunteers are needed to manage the day-to-day operations of our hospital Gift Shop.

DEPARTMENT SUPPORT

Department Support Volunteers are assigned to a specific area in the hospital and given tasks that will help the staff in that department.

Time commitment:

Volunteers must be available to volunteer 4 hours/week for a minimum of six months.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work alone and independent (within scope of assigned duties)

Able to work well with diverse populations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Good organizational skills

Moderate lifting / carrying / pushing

Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
