Adecco US, Inc. General Manager in Stowe, Vermont

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager for a growing cafe in Stowe, VT. The growth minded individual for this role will manage and oversee a café and coffee shop in one of the most beautiful parts of the USA.

Overall responsibility for the management and operations of the businesses to achieve the agreed Business Plan and budget.

  • Business Development: Developing an effective and efficient operating model that is profitable and can support further growth. Developing a vision for both businesses

  • Business Management : Developing and delivering an annual Business Plan & budget (with support from external financial and management advisors), by November.

  • Finance: Ensuring the finances of the business are managed effectively and efficiently and producing a monthly report on performance to the owner.

  • Staffing: Identifying staffing requirements, recruiting, and developing staff and ensuring the business has the right staff in place to fit business needs at all times. Providing a safe and productive environment for staff and ensuring compliance to all statutory and business policies and procedures. Management, training and development of staff.

  • Customers: Providing a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience to customers, implementing a marketing strategy to increase sales.

  • Purchasing and inventory: Ensuring purchasing is within budget and waste, inventory and stock are controlled effectively.

  • Food: Ensuring continuous development of the food offered to maximize profit without sacrificing quality, presentation, and feedback from customers.

Qualifications, education, skills requirements

Business management, financial, commercial, or catering qualifications from a recognized training establishment or equivalent practical experience.

5 years' experience in managing a customer facing business and solid understanding of managing and operating food businesses.

Valid Driver's License required

Pay and benefits

Competitive Salary commensurate with experience

10 days paid vacation per annum.

Staff discount of 20%

Contribution to health insurance

Temporary short-term accommodation may be available for relocation.

Salary: 60K-70K
