Job Title: **CAT Scan Technologist (Computed Tomography Scan Technologist)

Must have the following to apply:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience as a CAT/CT Technologist preferred
  • Appropriate valid state licensure in diagnostic imaging
  • A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification, if required by state regulations or contract specifications
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of companys Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required

**Job Description: The CAT/CT Scan Technologist produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as ordered by a physician. These cross-sectional images provide detailed information about soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones, which are essential for accurate diagnostics. The CAT/CT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. The CAT/CT Technologist also performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans.

Duties and Responsibility:**

Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures

Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary

Appropriately sets the controls of the relate equipment; monitors equipment and patient; makes adjustments as necessary

Assists radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicable

May dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans

Assists radiologist with interventional CT procedures

Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label

May be responsible for scheduling patients for procedures and assisting with some clerical functions

Charges procedures and supplies used to the patient record appropriately
