Performs routine and specialized examinations in Ultrasound.
Adapts procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results.
Utilizes independent judgment to adjust ultrasound procedures for specific diagnostic outcomes.
Prepares patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Positions patients appropriately to obtain accurate ultrasound images.
Operates ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
Collaborates with the radiology team and radiologist to interpret and communicate ultrasound findings.
Maintains accurate and detailed records of ultrasound procedures and patient information.
Stays updated with the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
Adheres to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines during ultrasound examinations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree in In the field of Ultrasound. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Must have proof of an ARDMS registry upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential Functions:
Clinical Excellence/Patient CarePerforms ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages* Exhibits competency in performing ultrasound procedures* Images required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology* Knowledgeable of catheters, biopsy instruments and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary* Obtains accurate histories and explains rationale for procedure to patients/families* Enhances image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings* Evaluates the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists* Maintains quality care throughout the procedure* Assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging
Clinical ExcellenceMaintains working knowledge of equipment in order to function in all areas of ultrasound.* All ultrasound equipment within the Medical Imaging Ultrasound department * Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation including hardware and software* Performs reasonable trouble shooting* Reports equipment problems through appropriate channels & documents on board for all staff notification* Maintains clean work area, checks and stocks all supplies in their specific area and verifies pertinent accessories assigned to that room* Reports equipment problems through appropriate channels* Invasive Procedures* Able to document area of concern* Set up trays with sterile field for radiologist* Assists radiologist with biopsy* Orders labs and pathology tests under the direction of a radiologist
Relationship BuildingPerforms support functions of the Medical Imaging department to ensure patient expectations and needs are met and assumes personal responsibility for training fellow technologists/students.* Promptly processes images and paperwork to ensure timely turn around in providing a report to the physician's office* Fills out all appropriate paperwork to facilitate timely and accurate reporting* Maintains and coordinates patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care* Promptly and accurately enters patient information into HIS system to ensure efficient patient throughput* Maintenance of the QA, QC, QI programs* Shares knowledge and guides fellow technologists/students with proper department protocol and procedures* Displays a professional attitude in the area toward fellow technologists/students, fostering mutual respect and creating productive learning environment.
