Job purpose

The incumbent will primarily be responsible for the successful development, delivery and management of customized training programs for the Sales team members. The candidate is an integral component of all training objectives, expectations, program development and execution in Canada.

Duties and responsibilities

The Training Manager Canada is responsible for planning and execution of all training requirements for the Canada team, including the management of required training as tracked by the learning and development platform, corporate curriculum as per role for development, compliance requirement training.

This individual must have a passion for adult training, and collaborating with a high-performance team that delivers exceptional results. This individual should be focused on making innovative contributions to the organization, have a positive outlook on change, and be adaptable to a dynamic environment without losing focus on business goals.

This includes having the ability for:

  • Strong comprehension of the Code of Conduct in Canada and IMC rules and regulations as an industry in Canada

  • Able to represent Sun Pharma Canada at IMC/industry meetings for the development of training and guidance committees

  • Design, develop, and implement a variety of training programs tailored for launch and ongoing sales team

  • Develop all required training materials for launch and/or home study materials necessary for initial and follow-up training classes.

  • Facilitate training courses, including but not limited to new hire training, national sales meetings, Virtual events, and other organization events and workshops.

  • Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing data to make well-informed decisions about training gaps and next steps

  • Learn new disease state materials and be prepared to implement training of these materials in a timely fashion

  • Manage the training Budget for prelaunch, launch and post launch & the training curriculum for the Business unit

  • Apply the concepts of sound instructional design to the development of a curriculum

  • Expert Level Facilitation and Presentation skills

  • Ability to work across boundaries with internal and external partners, influence and build consensus with various stakeholders in order to get results

  • Interface with management and all internal support teams to drive client results and satisfaction

  • Create and maintain a workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction

  • Work with Director and management to institute specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities

  • Manage classroom environment in a manner that allows representatives to meet learning objectives

  • Work with sales management to formulate a representative development plan

  • Support Commercial and Medical Affairs management team by providing training materials, workshops and/or facilitation support at National, Sales, and POA meetings

  • Conduct ongoing training Needs Analysis through field training visits

  • Ride in the field with representatives providing coaching on product and selling skills

  • Leveraging the existing Sun systems, including our LMS, to deliver innovative training solutions

  • Manage a project plan, including completing projects on time and within the provided budget while collaborating with internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with members of the larger training team, marketing, sales leadership, compliance, sales operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and report results

  • Able to contribute will colleagues as part of an North American training team.

Qualifications

  • French Language ability is an asset

  • Minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical commercial training experience

  • 2+ Years In House Training Experience

  • 3+ years of sales/business to business experience

  • Experience delivering training to a variety of audiences in a corporate setting

  • Reimbursement and clinical expertise desired, as well as a strong understanding of Specialty Pharmacy preferred.

  • Certification in Instructional Design Preferred

  • Office based time 60 percent, travel time 40 percent
