Actalent Certified Medical Assistant ($30-$35/hr) in Wailuku, Hawaii
Job Summary:
Actalent is in search of a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) to join the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working as a CMA in an OB/GYN setting. As a CMA in the OB/GYN practice, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in the OB/GYN clinic.
Obtain and record patients' medical history, vital signs, and other pertinent information.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
Educate patients about reproductive health, contraception options, prenatal care, and other relevant topics.
Perform routine OB/GYN tests and procedures, such as pregnancy tests, Pap smears, and pelvic exams.
Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
Assist with minor surgical procedures, including sterilization of instruments and preparation of surgical trays.
Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate medical records.
Provide patient support and counseling, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe clinic environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a medical assistant training program and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
(Fully qualified RN or LPN may be considered as equivalent to education and training listed above)
Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a CMA in an OB/GYN setting.
Knowledge of OB/GYN terminology, procedures, and equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy and sensitivity in patient interactions.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
CPR certification preferred
Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hr - This is a contract position
Working Conditions:
The position may require standing and sitting for long periods and working in a fast-paced clinic environment. CMAs in OB/GYN practices may work closely with pregnant patients and individuals seeking reproductive healthcare services.
