Nursing Manager

Valley Counseling - Adult Office

Monday - Friday  & variable

 

*GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: *This position provides leadership and clinical supervision to the nursing staff at all Valley Counseling Services locations. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide direct client care including pre-visits, ordering medications and monitoring clients for side-effects. Provide nursing coverage for staff vacations, call offs and other circumstances where nursing staff is needed.

  2. Provide community based services as needed.

  3. Complete injections as needed and monitor clients for compliance and medication adherence.

  4. Phlebotomy services, Genesight testing, rapid UDS testing

  5. Organize and maintain Central Pharmacy and medication samples.

  6. Assist with the selection and training of department staff.

  7. Assist agency psychiatrists and nurse practitioners in their role.

  8. Take a lead role within the agency's treatment team.

  9. Review/audit charts for compliance. Follow-up with to ensure that all documentation is complete, services are billable, and failed claims, activities are unsigned notes are taken care of.

  10. Ensure that medical staff are properly trained during onboarding and have access to technology and HER.

  11. Maintain competence regarding industry standards for mental health treatment and nursing services.

  12. Maintain a 50% productivity average.

  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

  14. Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.

Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Broad knowledge of behavioral health treatment specifically symptomology, psychotropic medications and their side effects, medication management and community resources. Experience using an electronic health record system and the ability to communicate and teach effectively. 

  2. Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.

  3. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation). 

     

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program and licensed as a RN in the State of Ohio. 

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Prior outpatient, mental health nursing experience is required. Prior supervisory experience is required.
