Catholic Health Initiatives Manager Laboratory in Williston, North Dakota

Responsibilities

  1. Supervises staff orientation, training, and competency assessment and identifies any need for remedial training.

  2. Delegates departmental duties to appropriate staff members.

  3. Able to schedule staff and assist in filling vacant shifts as appropriate

  4. Ensures quality patient care standards and safety practices are met.

  5. Reviews laboratory invoices, completes requests for purchases, and cash withdrawal forms.

  6. Submits and responds to incident events in a timely manner.

  7. Responsible for job requisitions, staff interviews, counselling, annual evaluations, and termination.

  8. Handles and responds to department issues with staff, equipment, policies, etc.

Qualifications

Required Education (for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Supervisor through President)

Sys/Div/Mkt/Local Supervisor – Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years’ experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or Microbiology.

North Dakota State Licensure C.L.S.

Required Minimum Experience

Three to five years in a clinical laboratory setting.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient with Lab computer system.

Ability to communicate with patients in order to explain necessary procedures and answer questions.

Good educator skills.

Good phlebotomy skills.

Ability to demonstrate positive behavior in interacting with patients, coworkers, physicians, visitors, and all other hospital personnel.

Able to identify and distinguish color.

Physical work level of light/medium: Involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 35 pounds full material handling.

Works hours as required to adequately supervise 24 hour department responsibilities.

Works under the condition that there is potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious environmental hazards associated with medical center operations.

Pay Range

$38.81 - $56.28 /hour
