This vacancy will be used to fill multiple openings at either the CPT 1 or CPT 2 level. The class determeination will be made based on the applicant‘s qualifications.

In this position you will provide specialized professional therapeutic programming to incarcerated individuals in an alcohol and other drug treatment program. You will be responsible for performing all aspects of program content, including security, assessment/evaluation, psycho-educational programming, monitoring and reporting, teaching, training and professional standards.

This position will work within a Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF - Willow River/Moose Lake) with direct contact with incarcerated individuals.

Minimum Qualifications

Clinical Program Therapist 1

LICENSURE

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure* by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform alcohol and drug counseling under Minnesota Statute 148F.11.

(*NOTE TO LICENSE-ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Please include information regarding your license-eligibility in your resume or application. To maintain employment, the successful candidate who is eligible for LADC licensure must possess a temporary ADC permit within 60 calendar days of the first day of employment and current LADC license within the probationary period.)

Clinical Program Therapist 2

LICENSURE

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure* by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform alcohol and drug counseling under Minnesota Statute 148F.11.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

One year of experience providing behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy, to clients with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

OR

Master‘s degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling/Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health/Science program**.

** If your degree is in a related Behavioral Health/Science program not listed above, you may be asked to provide an unofficial college transcript.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s or advanced degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling/Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family, Counseling, or a related Behavioral Health/Science program.

  • Current licensure in Minnesota as a LADC at time of hire.

  • Current Minnesota licensure as a LP, LPC, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT. Experience working in a correctional/secured environment.

  • Experience treating clients with co-occurring disorders.

  • One year of experience providing clinical behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy, to clients with substance use disorders.

Physical Requirements

The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position. For a copy of the PDA, please email Shelley Rojesky at shelley.rojesky@state.mn.us . This position will require Tuberculosis screening prior to hire.

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
